There are a number of reasons to like the book. As a younger reader, I enjoyed the story and the idea of a young man questioning much of what happens in battle and the "glory" of it.   I love reading because I just managed to read @ an adult level the past year and a half and have had to pre-read my 10 yr old's book with her reading at an adult level. I usually read to escape my emotional problems and the stress my kids cause on a daily basis.
